Welcome to the web-site of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Boston Spa. Boston Spa is a large Georgian village on the river Wharfe, close to the A1M immediately south of Wetherby, and just within the metropolitan area of Leeds. St Mary’s and its sister Churches All Saints’ Bramham and St. Peter’s Walton form the Parish of Lower Wharfe, which with the parish of All Saints’ Thorp Arch comprises the Benefice of Bramham, in the Diocese of York. St. Mary's is the largest church in the benefice and is especially known for the warmth of its welcome.

Through varied Sunday and weekday worship, large range of ministries, community activities and links we seeks to provide a firm spiritual foundation in the Christian faith, and to be a place where Jesus' love is shared and His gospel is proclaimed.

We have our own church school and there are a number of organizations within the church for our younger members.

Revd Canon Peter E Bristow

Easter Vigil and Service of Light

5.30am - Sunday 5th April

St Mary’s Church, Boston Spa

Come to this first service of Easter and prepare to celebrate the resurrection with noise, music and bells - Join us in this celebration as Dawn breaks.

This is the most significant service in the church’s year.

It is a unique service with readings in a darkened church, the lighting of the new fire in the churchyard and the proclamation of the Easter Victory.

Bring a bell!

Breakfast is served after Holy Communion for those that have

attended the service.
