Welcome to the website of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Boston Spa. Boston Spa
is a large Georgian village on the river Wharfe, close to the A1M immediately south
of Wetherby, and just within the metropolitan area of Leeds. St Mary’s and its sister
Churches All Saints’ Bramham and St. Peter’s Walton form the Parish of Lower Wharfe,
which with the parish of All Saints’ Thorp Arch comprises the Benefice of Bramham,
in the Diocese of York. St. Mary's is the largest church in the benefice and is especially
known for the warmth of its welcome.
Through varied Sunday and weekday worship, large range of ministries, community activities
and links we seeks to provide a firm spiritual foundation in the Christian faith,
and to be a place where Jesus' love is shared and His gospel is proclaimed.
We have our own church school and there are a number of organizations within the
church for our younger members.
How to find us
St. Mary’s Church is situated on Boston Spa High Street (A659) at the western end
of the shopping centre, and one mile east of Jct 45 of the A1(M).
The prospect of an AGM is usually enough to make us look for an alternative engagement
but the plan this year is to make it more of a social occasion. The formal part of
the AGM will be brief, there will be some time given to comments and questions and
then we will have a two-course meal and tea or coffee priced at £13.00
Chicken with tarragon and white wine sauce
Steak and ale pie
Salmon with a lemon cream sauce
Vegetarian dish of the day
Choice of desserts from the menu
Tea or coffee
Please indicate your choice of main course to the Parish Office by Monday 28 April
