A traditional harvest supper was held in our quaint village hall on September 30th. There was an autumnal feel to the hall with hedgerow flowers adorning the tables and tree twigs, acorns and berries were skilfully scattered around the room.
A small team volunteer cooks and bakers produced a wonderfully home-made chicken casserole followed by apple (all grown in Walton) crumble and custard. To finish off our meal we had a serving of Walton grown black grapes with cheese. The evening concluded with a superb raffle draw.
There are so many people who worked hard to make this event a success, you know who you are so thank you so much.
Usually at these events the hardest part is the clearing up afterwards, but god bless those people who ate drank and were merry but stayed on to help stack chairs and put the tables away. Now that is what I call community spirit! Thank you everybody.
