Wow! Where do I start? Firstly, the tickets for this event were almost sold out within days from availability. (Remember that for next year if you don’t wish to be disappointed!) The Walton V.C.C team cooked a delicious meal from locally sourced produce, most of the apple crumble was harvested from trees in the village…so they were FREE, therefore helping to boost our profits. There were so many people who contributed to this successful evening, and I hope that without giving you a long list, the Waltonians will know who those special people are and some don’t even live in Walton!
What was special for me? I think seeing new residents discovering the community spirit of our village and seeing our youngest 1 year old resident Connie, freely wandering amongst the tables making herself known to those who had not already met her!
There was a new addition in the form of a quiz which proved to be a success and the traditional raffle draw; all of which raised over £800 for St Peter’s Church funds.
I just love it when a plan to make money works! Thank you Waltonians and non Waltonians, you did us proud as the old adage goes
