The Church
Pray for our Diocese, for Sentamu our Archbishop, for Martin our Bishop, Richard our Archdeacon and our local Clergy. Pray for the Primates of the Anglican Communion and our communion of Churches.
The World
Please pray for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti and for all those who have lost their homes. Pray for peace and stability in Pakistan and for progress in Iraq and Afghanistan. We continue to pray for peace between Israel and its neighbours. Remember the victims of all terrorist attacks and their families. Pray for financial stability and for those whose livelihoods and homes are threatened. Remember those who are hungry or oppressed.
Our Local Communities

GROUP NOTICES AND NEWS
* 2010 LENT LECTURES AT ST. MARY’S “The Story of Faith through Five Objects”. Join us for some very interesting and informative evenings in St Mary’s Room at 7.30pm each Tuesday during Lent, commencing February 23rd. Our speaker is The Revd. Greg Hoyland, lecturer in Theology at York St John’s University. Light refreshments will be avalable before the meeting.
* LENT IN BETWEEN BREAKFASTS, 8.40am at St. Mary’s, commencing on Sunday 21st February for five weeks. Stay after the 8.00am service or come early for the 9.30am service and enjoy a continental style breakfast with a short reflection for Lent, led by the Lay Worship Group. Everyone is invited!
* ST MARY’S ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 21st April 2010. All AGM Reports should be submitted to the Parish Administration Office ideally by the end of February but definitely before 21st March.
* CHRISTIAN AID “Count Your Blessings” is a meaningful exercise for Lent. See the Justice and Peace notice board at St. Mary’s Church and pick up a leaflet!
* PILGRIMAGE TO WALSINGHAM 2010: Friday evening 2nd July to Monday morning 5th July. Accommodation (£149.25 for full board) is available at The Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, (Note this year we do not have a driver so are unable to provide group transport, Pilgrims would therefore have to make their own travel arrangements). A booking deposit of £20 is required by Friday 25th March to confirm your place. To reserve accommodation and to obtain information on Travel and Public Transport contact the Parish Administrator Shirley Elphick.
* COFFEE FOR CASSOCKS in St Mary’s Room 10.00am to 12 noon on Saturday 20th March. St Mary’s Junior Choir members are growing and funds are badly needed for Cassocks and Surplices. We have coffee, cakes, a gift stall and a raffle, all we need is you! Admission £1
* LAZY SAFARI SUPPER -
