The first church to be built on this site in the early 19th Century was designated
A “Chapel of Ease”within the ancient parish of  Bramham. In 1851 it was
Considerably enlarged and in the following year became a Parish Church
Instead of a “Chapelry”. Work commenced on the present Church in 1872

For a number of years the churchyard has been managed using the
principles of the “Living Churchyard” project, under the auspices
of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and the York Diocese.
