AUGUST UPDATE 2008
Well, this is how it might have been, but it didn’t turn out that way! Firstly the WEATHER (grim or what) and secondly, our jobs to do for the FLOWER FESTIVAL and the Grant Applications.
The Flower Festival looks like being a great occasion – but you can read all about that elsewhere on the site. All I say here is how grateful we are to the THIRTY Businesses and organisations who have generously agreed to donate a Display to the Festival and also to make a donation to the Appeal.

Similarly we had to find out if St Mary’s had any Title Deeds, and if we did, who held them! Not something anyone had ever thought about! The Diocesan Office and Frank Sutcliffe the Diocesan Organs Advisor have been really helpful here.
We haven’t had time to plan any new major Fundraising events as yet, but we’ve just learned that the Children from Primrose Lane school are studying Water Colour next term and have chosen St Mary’s Church as their subject. There will be an exhibition of their Paintings in St Mary’s around our Harvest Festival. Any proceeds will be for our Organ Appeal. This is great news and we are thrilled that the children want to do this for us. Remember St Mary’s Mouse came from Primrose Lane School too!
Ok – time and space exhausted ~ a bit like we are in the run up to the FLOWER FESTIVAL!
Thanks for all the support and encouragement, -
John and Liz
