Celebration dinner, a change of plan
At its most recent sub Committee Meeting, the Appeal Committee decided to delay the ‘Celebration’ event planned for Friday 25th September of this year.
In so far that the restored Organ will not be rebuilt and repositioned until spring time of 2010, the ‘Celebration’ of the completed project seems more appropriate after all has been completed i.e. when the restored organ is up and running.
Consequently it was unanimously agreed by those concerned to hold a Celebration event during the summer of 2010….possibly with a musical evening theme! More will be announced in the coming months.
Sorry for the change in plan but your ‘Organ Restoration Fundraising Committee’ wishes to maintain its reputation of high standards of excellence and being appropriate with its events. We won’t let you down!

OTHER NEWS FROM THE APPEAL
The hidden aspects are now working flat out on making sure it all happens, and that it happens on time. Roland Gooch has met with the Architect and Wardens and also the nominated Builders, and all the details are being worked out to ensure minimum disruption to our Worship whilst the work goes on.
Pete Etherington and his colleagues “in the Trade” are working away at the Visual display screen gizmo that will explain all about what’s been going on, and give easily accessible information across all the areas of interest – history of the Church, History of the Organ, what we’ve done to it etc etc.
As part of this Bob Dibben and John Townend are STILL working their way through the Parish Magazines, month by month back from 1875 to find information for the history Section of the Display, and for a revision of the Church History. A Trip to York University look at some actual period plans and legal Documents relating to the building of St. Mary’s was a real treat !
So if it LOOKS as though it’s all come to a standstill, it certainly has not ! We’ve never been busier than we are now. The great thing is that the cash to pay for it all is safely gathered in !
Deo Gratias!
Liz and John
