November/December  Update

I thought there would be little to add this month – how wrong I was. Still to come in 2007 are the Pampered Chef (28th November - details on the site) and something new –a Cake and Produce stall in Millennium Gardens as part of the Boston Spa Late night Shopping event on Wednesday 5th December. Anne Gooch and Caroline Clarke have agreed to coordinate this event, but need your Cakes, Jam, home-made goodies etc that HAVE NOT BEEN FROZEN. In the event of poor weather causing cancellation, we can then freeze your donations for future use. The Jazz in the Spa completes the Calendar Year on Saturday 29th December – see Mike Bowers for information.

It’s not too late to buy an Organ Pipe Sponsorship for Christmas, See Bob Dibben!

Events booked already in 2008 are  – the AUCTION  OF  PROMISES, 28th March: you should know about already – see the main site for further details or contact Mike Bowers for more information. The other new event is a Puddings Evening, on Saturday 23rd February  in St Mary’s Room fully arranged by Phillipa and Paul Martin – look out for further details of that, carefully timetabled to be within the Refreshment Sunday period, so those giving up naughty things for Lent can attend with a clear conscience !

The Appeal has been HUGELY successful so far – we have a sum over £43,000 in the Bank – including re-claimed Tax through Gift Aid. This means that we are now in a position to start approaching Trusts and Grant making Bodies to ask for support and to go out to the business world to ask them for help too. We’ve proved that we are serious about Fundraising and the Organ Project by our efforts so far – so others will be more likely to help now.

To do this we will have to have fully costed drawings and approved plans to show them, so yet another facet of our work will be to get them drawn up, costed, and approved by the Diocese. We don’t foresee too many problems with the legal side, once the plans are finalised. So, there’s even more to do now, raising the cash, and finalising the plans too.

Without your support none of this would have been possible, and to our Sincere Good Wishes for a Thoughtful Advent and a Happy and Holy Christmas, we add our deep and sincere thanks for the wonderful support – financial, emotional, and practical –given to us during the year. Let’s do it all again next year ! (Next update will be in January 2008)
